چکیده

This study investigated the effects of nitrogen form on root activity and uptake kinetics Camellia oleifera Abel. seedlings, providing a scientific basis for improving use efficiency fertilization in C. production. Taking one-year-old cultivar ‘Xianglin 27’ seedlings as subjects, 8 mmol·L−1 varied forms (NO3−:NH4+ = 0:0, 10:0, 7:3, 5:5, 3:7, 0:10) was applied this treatment conditions to investigate different seedlings. Comparing performance nutrient solutions with NO3−:NH4+ ratios, results showed that mixed source improved based total absorption area, active area ratio, specific surface area. When seedling roots reached maximum. The kinetic parameters Vmax NH4+ > NO3− Km NH4+, indicating potential ammonium–nitrogen by is greater than nitrate–nitrogen. conclusion compared either ammonium– or nitrate–nitrogen, better promoting best nitrate/ammonium ratio 5:5.

Study of genetic diversity in bread wheat germplasm using nitrogen uptake and nitrogen use efficiency characteristics

In order to evaluate the traits related to nitrogen utilization and to identify the superior genotypes, 33 bread wheat landraces along three check cultivars of Chamran and Koohdasht (from Iran) and Gobustan (from the Republic of Azerbaijan) were studied in simple lattice statistical design with two replications under two treatments of non-usage and application of 200 kg/ha ammonium nitrate fert...

Effects of manure nitrogen on vegetables’ yield and nitrogen efficiency in Tanzania

Due to an increasing demand of leaf vegetables, and hence their economic importance in the tropics, it is very common that excessive fertilizer N rates are applied to vegetable gardens and fields to attain high yield. This calls for more information on their nutrient requirements. In this study, we designed experiments to explore the effect of organic N levels on the yield and agronomic N use e...

Root aeration improves growth and nitrogen accumulation in rice seedlings under low nitrogen

In wetland soils, changes in oxygen (O2) level in the rhizosphere are believed to influence the behaviour of nutrients and their usage by plants. However, the effect of aeration on nitrogen (N) acquisition under different N supply conditions remains largely unknown. In this study, the rice cultivars Yangdao 6 (YD6, with higher root aerenchyma abundance) and Nongken 57 (NK57, with lower root aer...

Yield and nitrogen leaching in maize field under different nitrogen rates and partial root drying irrigation

Irrigation water is limiting for crop production in arid and semi-arid areas. Furthermore, excess nitrogen (N) application is a source of groundwater contamination. Partial root drying irrigation (PRD) can be used as water saving technique and a controlling measure of groundwater N contamination. The objectives of this investigation were to evaluate the effect of ordinary furrow irrigation (OFI...
